Edema
Edema is the presence of abnormally large amounts of fluid in the intercellular tissue spaces of the body; usually applied to demonstrable accumulation of excessive fluid in the subcutaneous tissues.
Infectious Causes are as follows: Boils, Carbuncle, Cellulitis, Abscess, Erysipelas, Osteomyelitis, Gas Gangrene. Venous Obstructions such as: Thrombophlebitis, thrombosis, neoplasm, varicose veins, arteriovenous fistula, Lymph node mass, Aneurysm and Tight clothing (e.g. Garter) may cause edema.
